When I was 14/15, I was OBSESSED the thrifting and flea markets. One Saturday, I saw a disco ball forn $25 which for me, a natural bargain hunter, was too spendy so I walked away. My mom and I then ran into some strangers and got to talking. I was telling them how much I loved the disco ball but the lady wouldn't budge on the price. We told the ladies I was still struggling after the death of a close friend. We continued talking and getting to know eachother when one of the women walked away. She came back with the DISCO BALL, handed it to me and said "Pay it forward". I started crying as it was such a pure and genuine act of kindness. 

I've proudly had it hanging in my room ever since, and that moment has inspired my to pay it forward whenever I get the chance
